We raise funds that will be used to pay directly for college fees and education related expenses like study materials and uniforms.
Your donation will contribute to the school fee of one or more children in Nairobi, Kenya. Currently we support the children of Tree House Children’s Family Orphanage in Lucky Summer, Kasarani. The age of the children ranges from 1 to 21 years old. The school fee will be paid directly to the school by ourselves or by one of the volunteers.
The oldest children whom we support are part of PwC Kenya’s mentorship programme Piga Jeki (“we boost”). As this is a 100% volunteer programme, being led and executed by PwC Kenya, our funds are not being used for this mentorship.. The younger children will be mentored by the local volunteers of our foundation.
We distribute nano finance loans and give guidance on how to handle money to accompany and support older teenagers in their first steps into the world of entrepreneurship. Our support helps these adolescents to set up small businesses and thus become more and more independent. As soon as their loan is paid back, the children can nominate another budding entrepreneur to receive a loan. Before any loans are granted, a business plan needs to be written and approved. So far, this is a personal experiment and not part of the foundation’s investments.
